Conservative MP Michael Barrett would not say whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should temporarily step down amid an ethics investigation, as well as the party’s plan to ask for a criminal investigation into the cancelled WE Charity contract, but said the Liberal cabinet needs to be questioned on whether they knew Trudeau’s family members were being paid for speaking gigs by the charity. Barrett added, asked whether Trudeau can continue his job, the cabinet and the caucus need an “examination of conscience” on whether the prime minister can remain as leader of the party.
