U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence on Wednesday explained, in his view, why schools in the country should reopen for in-person learning, amid the coronavirus pandemic. His rationale for why he thinks “it’s the right thing to do” for children includes having them not fall behind academically, and that children in need of mental health services or who have “special needs” get those services required.
