U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday called the reopening of schools “very important for our country” during a summit with several state governors and other administration officials on how to reopen schools safely amid the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that they would work to open them in the fall and while it’s a horrible disease, “young people do extraordinarily well.”
