China’s ambassador to the U.K., Liu Xiaoming, accused the U.K. of “gross interference” on Monday, and of making irresponsible remarks, regarding Beijing’s introduction of a new national security legislation in Hong Kong. Britain said the imposition of the law was a violation of the 1984 Joint Declaration, and that London would offer three million residents of the former colony a path to British citizenship.
