White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany described COVID-19 outbreaks in states including Texas, Florida and California as “embers” on Wednesday despite the massive number of cases being reported in these states. She also attempted to clarify that U.S. President Donald Trump believed the virus “would just disappear” because of the work being done to develop a vaccine.
