Jared Polis announced on Thursday he had appointed a special prosecutor to investigate the death of Elijah McClain, who died following an encounter with police in Aurora, Colorado last August. According to reports, McClain was placed on a chokehold by police as well as injected with a sedative. He was declared brain dead three days after his interaction with police.
