Senate Democrats blocked a Republican-drafted police reform bill from proceeding to debate and consideration on Wednesday. Sixty votes were needed to open debate, however it failed by a vote of 55 to 45. Democrats said the bill fell far short of needing reforms, including on the issues of chokeholds and no-knock warrants.
