When asked about advice for Floridians and other U.S. states that have seen a recent surge in COVID-19 cases, Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institutes of Health on Tuesday advised residents to follow reopening guidelines and to “not throw caution to the wind.” He added that although young individuals “may perceive that they’re at very low risk,” they may be “indirectly hurting people” when physical distancing and COVID-19 guidelines are not followed.
