British Columbia Finance Minister Carole James said on Wednesday that the province’s service sector accounted for 90 per cent of job losses amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and stated that youth and female workers have been the most vulnerable. She said the youth unemployment rate is 29 per cent, while women also make up more than 60 per cent of job losses “in the hardest hit sector.”
