On Tuesday, U.S. Republican Senator and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that he would be “personally OK” with renaming military bases in the country that carry names of Confederate Army officers. “Whatever is ultimately decided I don’t have a problem with,” McConnell said. His remarks come after nationwide protests against anti-Black racism.
