Republican Sen. Tim Scott on CBS’ Face The Nation Sunday said that discussions with Democrats about eliminating the “qualified immunity” legal doctrine, which helps shield police officers from liability, is off the table but that he is open to exploring whether to enact a law to decertify officers engaging in misconduct as part of a law enforcement reform package.
