Leader of the Official Opposition Andrew Scheer said on Friday that he was ‘very troubled’ to see the video of an RCMP officer tackling and punching Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation Chief Allan Adam during an arrest in March. Scheer said there is an investigation going on and “it would be inappropriate” for him to further comment and added he supports measures to install equipment like body cameras to ensure officers who act inappropriately face consequences.
