Mark Milley, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, apologized on Thursday for accompanying President Donald Trump to Lafayette Square in Washington, DC for a photo-op at St. John’s Episcopal Church. The administration was criticized after police officers used tear gas and rubber bullets to clear the square of peaceful protesters ahead of the photo-op.
