Asked to respond to comments by Alberta RCMP deputy commissioner Curtis Zablocki that he doesn’ t believe racism is systemic through Canadian policing, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said Wednesday that all federal government institutions, including the police, need to “operate from an understanding that systemic racism is a problem for us here in Canada.”
