Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced on Monday the extension of ban on power disconnections for residential customers until July 31, and introduced a new payment assistance program which will provide support for low-income families struggling to pay their electricity bills with a one-time payment to cover electricity debts incurred during the COVID-19 period.
