Coronavirus outbreak: Should the government put long-term care homes under the Canada Health Act?

Speaking to reporters in Ottawa on Wednesday, President of the Treasury Board Jean-Yves Duclos was asked if, as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau put it “everything” is on the table when it comes to addressing the crisis in some of Ontario and Quebec’s long-term care homes -is the government considering putting these facilities under the jurisdiction of the Canada Health Act?
