Speaking to reporters in Ottawa on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland and federal health minister Patty Hajdu responded to a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) report saying teams deployed to some nursing homes in Ontario have observed shocking conditions, including “blatant disregard” for infection control measures, mistreatment of residents and a level of care described as “horrible.”
