Coronavirus outbreak: British PM Johnson says he ‘understands’ why people want to see Dominic Cummings resign

In the wake of controversy surrounding British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s top adviser, Dominic Cummings, who is accused of breaking lockdown measures in March when he reportedly took a 400 km trip, Johnson on Monday said that he “understands” why people may wish to see Cummings resign. In a statement to media made earlier that day, Cummings said he was in an “exceptional situation” and broke no rules when he drove to his parents’ house during a nationwide lockdown.
