Dr. Michael Ryan, the executive director of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergencies program, explained on Monday that countries must be alert and keep an eye for a potential “second peak” within the current wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said while numbers on on the decline in many countries, some could still see an increase even before a potential “second wave” that may happen later this year.
