Coronavirus outbreak: WHO official says countries must watch for possible ‘2nd peak’ not just ‘2nd wave’

Dr. Michael Ryan, the executive director of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergencies program, explained on Monday that countries must be alert and keep an eye for a potential “second peak” within the current wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said while numbers on on the decline in many countries, some could still see an increase even before a potential “second wave” that may happen later this year.
