U.S. lawmakers are demanding answers after the State Department’s inspector general, Steve Linick, was fired at the request of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He was completing an investigation into possible misconduct in a Saudi Arabia arms deal, and may have been investigating Pompeo himself for directing a political appointee to run personal errands.
