During a COVID-19 update on Saturday, U.K. Education Minister Gavin Williamson explained plans to begin the phased reopening of schools on June 1. He said they are “asking schools to adopt a number of strict protective measures” including reduced class sizes and extending testing, which previously included school staff, to also include children and their families if they develop symptoms as of June 1.
