Coronavirus outbreak: WHO launches a global ‘intellectual property’ sharing platform on COVID-19

World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and President Carlos Alvarado Quesada of Costa Rica announced the launch of a platform for the open collaborative sharing of knowledge, data and intellectual property on existing and new health tools to combat COVID-19. The platform is a proposal by President Alvarado Quesada and is created on a voluntary basis “because now we need solidarity and that’s what the program is all about.”
