On Monday, Canada’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam said that she thinks the Quebec public health authorities are monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak “extremely closely” as schools in the province reopen, adding the decision to reopen schools, in her view, came with a “complex decision-making process.” The nation’s top doctor added that she believes the province will also be monitoring the mental health impacts of long-term school closures on children, as well.
