Coronavirus outbreak: Chuck Schumer questions whether U.S. veterans are being treated ‘as guinea pigs’

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer sought answers on whether the Department of Veterans Affairs (V.A.) is being given chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Schumer questioned Sunday whether the department was treating U.S. veterans “like guinea pigs” by distributing the drugs in V.A. hospitals.
