U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer sought answers on whether the Department of Veterans Affairs (V.A.) is being given chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Schumer questioned Sunday whether the department was treating U.S. veterans “like guinea pigs” by distributing the drugs in V.A. hospitals.
