“We weren’t looking for this,” said New York health commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker, when asked about a rare pediatric syndrome linked to the novel coronavirus. Zucker said none of the children who have fallen ill with what is now being called pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome had presented with a respiratory illness.
