U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday clarified earlier comments regarding winding down the coronavirus task force. The president said he thought the task force could be wound down sooner, but “had no idea how popular” it is. Trump said after initially announcing the wind-down Tuesday, he received calls from “very respected people” calling for the coronavirus task force to remain operational.
