On Wednesday, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh called on the government to provide a 10-day paid sick leave for all Canadian workers to ensure all employees are COVID-19 symptom-free before returning to work. He said the employment insurance (EI) system could be used to give paid sick leave but “ultimately we need to see this as part of the Canadian law.”
