Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said that he will not permit Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NAID) to testify in front of Congress because “the House is a set up, and its members are a bunch of Trump-haters and they should be ashamed of themselves.” He added that Dr. Fauci will testify before the Senate. Earlier this week, Trump blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying in front of the House on his administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S.
