When asked about the reopening of places such as movie theatres amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Michael Ryan, executive director of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Health Emergencies Programme, said on Monday that the organization advises that anywhere people gather where social distancing or proper hygiene cannot be maintained, a risk remains to “amplify” the spread of the coronavirus.
