U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Thursday that he could confirm the country was “past the peak” of COVID-19 and “we’re on the downward slope.” He commended health care and other essential workers for what they’ve done, and the general public for abiding by the lockdown. Johnson said he would also be setting out a “comprehensive plan” next week on how they can restart the economy.
