On Monday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state is seeing an increase in food bank use throughout, including a 40-60 per cent use increase across upstate New York, a 40 per cent increase in Long Island, a 100 per cent increase in New York City and a 200 per cent increase in Westchester. In addition, the governor announced the Nourish New York initiative, where rather than companies dumping unsold milk, which he called wasteful, dairy products could be given to people in need.
