Coronavirus outbreak: British officials repeat plea for people to stay home as death toll passes 20,000

On Saturday, British Interior Minister Priti Patel repeated the government’s plea for people to stay home amid the COVID-19 pandemic in order to slow the spread of the virus. She also announced the country has 813 new deaths to report, bringing the total to 20,319. In addition, a total of 148,377 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the United Kingdom, which is an increase in 4,913 cases since Friday.
