Police were on scene in a wooded area in Hammonds Plains, N.S., a suburb of the Halifax Regional Municipality, on Friday afternoon responding to unconfirmed reports of shots fired. The reports of shots fired prompted an emergency alert to be sent by the province in response. RCMP searched the area and found no evidence of shots fired as of 5:37 p.m. Atlantic time.
