During a COVID-19 update on Friday, Ontario’s associate chief medical officer of health Dr. Barbara Yaffe said that they “remain extremely concerned” about the province’s long-term care homes and “other congregate settings” during the virus outbreak. She stated that there were 131 outbreaks in long-term care homes, and that 573 residents and one staff member have lost their lives to COVID-19.
