A COVID-19 vaccine trial is underway in the U.K., Europe’s first shot at human trials of a vaccine to fight the coronavirus. About 800 people are taking part in the study by Oxford University, though there are concerns that with the country on lockdown, it may be difficult to determine its effectiveness as participants must be exposed to the virus. Despite this, a professor involved in the study, Sarah Gilbert, predicts the vaccine has an 80 per cent chance of working and could be ready as early as September.
