Nova Scotia shooting: RCMP say issues of ‘communication’ and ‘consultation’ delayed emergency alert

Nova Scotia RCMP Chief Supt. Chris Leather told reporters during a press conference Wednesday afternoon that issues of “communication” between various levels of the RCMP, as well as a period of “consultation” regarding specific wording contributed to the force’s delay in issuing an emergency alert before the suspect in this weekend’s shooting rampage was shot and killed.
