During a COVID-19 briefing on Monday, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer Dr. Strang said that while we want to mourn the victims of Sunday’s mass shooting by coming together as a community in person, “COVID-19 won’t pause because of our pain” and we must continue to implement provincial health measures by maintaining physical distance and avoiding gatherings over 5 people. He added that when this pandemic passes the province would be able to come together to remember the victims of Sunday’s tragedy, but today we need to focus on “mourning safely.”
