The U.K. education secretary Gavin Williamson reported 596 new fatalities in relation to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, this bring the total number of deaths in the U.K. to 16,060.
Williamson also reported 5,850 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 120,067.
There are currently 18,118 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 across the U.K.
