A technology platform that can help with COVID-19 contact tracing through mobile phones is gaining support in Europe, with one of its coordinators saying seven countries have formally signed up for the system. The voluntary app, called PEPP-PT, tracks proximity to other users’ phones and warns if they have come in contact with an infected individual.
