Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Wednesday announced enhanced measures for long-term care facilities in dealing with COVID-19 due to the high-risk seniors face of contracting the virus. For instance, the new plan entails that long-term care homes in the province facing novel coronavirus outbreaks will be targeted for testing and surveillance, the staff who work at these facilities will have expanded education on infection prevention and control, priority of personal protective equipment distribution will go toward long-term care facilities and more.
