New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Sunday that there were 758 new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hour period, bringing the death toll to 9,385 in New York State. He said while there was a “flattening” in terms of number of deaths, it’s been doing so at a “terribly high” level. Given the beginning of a “flattening of the curve,” Cuomo said he wants the state to reopen and restart the economy as soon as possible but do so in a way that is safe for everyone.
