Coronavirus outbreak: U.K. official says ‘today marks a somber day’ as COVID-19 deaths surpass 10,000

During a COVID-19 update on Sunday, U.K. health minister Matt Hancock announced the country had surpassed 10,000 deaths caused by the virus, calling it a “somber day.” He stated that more than 84,000 people have tested positive and over 19,900 are in hospital, but reminded the nation to continue its “steadfast commitment” to follow self-isolation rules during the pandemic.
