Coronavirus outbreak: Cuomo says New York’s COVID-19 death toll a ‘consequence of the actions that we take’

During a COVID-19 update on Friday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo praised the state’s health care workers and the “tens of thousands of lives” that they have saved during the COVID-19 pandemic, but said that the rate of infection and death toll caused by the virus is “purely in our control” and is “a consequence of the actions” that New Yorkers take.
