Toronto Mayor John Tory on Tuesday warned the public of the dangers of littering used personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks or gloves, during the spread of COVID-19, stating that not only is this littering, but this could increase risk of viral transmission. The mayor said those caught littering could face fines.
