Coronavirus outbreak: U.K. health official hopeful COVID-19 measures working, but will take time

National medical director of the National Health Service (NHS) England Stephen Powis said on Saturday measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, such as social distancing, will work, so there’s reason to remain hopeful. However, he added that seeing results from these actions will take time. This comes as the United Kingdom recorded its highest single-day COVID-19-related death increase since the start of the outbreak.
