Coronavirus outbreak: Freeland says Canada will do ‘whatever it takes’ as U.S. moves to block medical exports

During a COVID-19 update on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said that Canada would do “whatever it takes” to defend the country’s national interest against the United States potentially blocking medical exports, emphasizing that Canada is also a key supplier of both medical supplies and staff to the U.S. The Trump administration on Friday ordered medical supply firm 3M to stop selling N95 respirators to Canada amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
