Coronavirus outbreak: Trudeau says U.S. halting 3M medical supplies trade to Canada ‘could hurt Americans as much as anybody else’

On Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that the medical supply firm 3M will stop selling N95 respirators to Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying that it “could hurt Americans as much as it could hurt anybody else.” Trudeau added that he is confident Canada will continue to receive necessary equipment, and that the government is doing “everything they can” to ensure that “no part of Canada” is without essential supplies. He did not say if Canada would put into place retaliatory measures in response.
