Asked about Canadian passengers on board two cruise ships scheduled to dock in Fort Lauderdale, Fl., later in the day, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday that Canadian passengers would be repatriated on a chartered flight and would be required to self-isolate for 14 days. Four passengers on board Holland America’s Zandaam cruise ship have died from COVID-19. Healthy passengers were transferred to a second ship, the MS Rotterdam, which is now also headed for Fort Lauderdale.
