British Columbia’s chief provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said on Wednesday despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention looking into re-examining guidelines for masks by the general public, medical masks are still “paramount” to frontline workers’ safety. She said if people want to use homemade masks, they may be able to prevent the spread of their own droplets, but advised staying at home and proper social distancing does work and should be followed.
