Finance Minister Bill Morneau urged businesses applying for the coronavirus wage subsidy to make sure they are signed up for direct deposit, which he said would allow these businesses to receive money more quickly. The subsidy will cover up to 75 per cent of wages for businesses who have seen their revenue decrease by up to 30 per cent due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
